All of our Bbs are amazing janitors for your vivariums, excellent food for your bigger Bbs, or as your very own Bb pet!
Sandstone Isopods are from the Armadillidium genus. They are colors from beige to peach to gray producing a wide range. They have a rough exterior with tiny bumps on their carapace. In our experience, we have many big chunks of charcoal that Sandstone Bbs spend most of their time on, whether it be on the wet side or the dry side.
Armadillidium scaberrimum or Sandstone Isopods were discovered in 1859 by scientist Stein. They are found today in the Balkans. These Bbs like it dry with humidity at around 50%. They are used to no calcium from their natural environment, however, we recommend using some in their soil for their carapace to stay hard! In the Balkans, there is a natural rock called Serpentinite that has deposits throughout the Balkans. While they are a part of the natural environment, Sandstone Bbs don't need this in their setups due to the harsh nature of the natural elements in Serpentinite.
